Reflection
Bronze, 6", edition 50
"One of art's functions is to challenge the viewer to think....."
Reflection is my second bronze sculpture produced in 1992. Its prototype was executed in brown wax, thus its impressionistic surface and abstract features. What I enjoy about this work is the different responses it receives. From a male perspective, my husband sees a basketball player pondering the game; another sees our Creator reflecting on the state of humankind. The most objective interpretation, not the least by any means, is that it is a form comprised of spheres and triangles. As we are each unique so are our vantage points and opinions, and all hold validity.
One of art's functions is to challenge the viewer to think. If this small geometric configuration speaks to you then I am happy.
